CHINESE NEW YEAR
Yesh its Chinese New Year Again.

Day 1 - Day 1 was boring - as usual. After visiting my uncle and aunties, I went to my grandma's house for lunch. All my cousins were there when we arrived - we were late! Haha. Lunch wasnt that delicious. The noodles were plain, sharkfins soup was too starchy and ai yah, the food was just disappointing, restaurant food some more. Shd boycott tt restaurant.
Went to my aunty's house at night. I love my aunty. But I'm quite disappointed because she dint cook. We ate steamboat in her house. Talking about my aunty, she is the one who brought me up when I was very very young - because both my parents were working then.

Day 2 - My dad invited his colleagues for a lunch in my house.
<- Yes lunch was all these. My parents were the chef of the day! haha.

I like the chocolate fondue... but its a little heaty.

<- Yu Sheng

I dislike eating yu sheng when i was young. Because I cant convince myself in eating a plate of 'vegetables'. haha.

But not now. I like to eat yu sheng now.

<- My cousin's son. Very cute rite.

He was surprisingly well behaved. Never destroy anything in my room. Haha!
He likes to play with balls. Took out every single ball in my room to play. Tennis ball, golf ball, soccer ball, basketball etc etc!

Fetch my sister to Changi Airport at night because she needs to send her friend off.

So I went 'shopping' at Changi Airport since I have nothing to do during the wait. So drop by at Fairprice. Haha! Now u noe why most supermarkets are closed for business during this chinese new yr period. Because there is no suppliers! haha. Look at this, 3 loaves of bread on the shelf. pathetic!

Okie, I need some advise on how to solve my friend's problem...

I came across this gd friend of mine who is very depressed recently. Yah relationship problems again.
He broke off with his girlfriend one year ago. They patched back recently, much to his parents disapproval. He has 2 choices, continue with his girlfriend and forget about his depressed parents who loves him so much or be a filial son and break off with his girlfriend.
So this guy was asking me whether he shd give up his gf for his parents sake or ignore his parents and go for the girl.
If u were him, what will you do?

Okie guys HAPPY NEW YEAR... enjoy yourslf and collect lotsa ang pows! $ faced Mr Woo...

CHINATOWN

<- South Bridge Road. Lights at this stretch of road is not tt spectacular. Eh I dint manage to capture the lights along Eu Tong Sen Street. Its blur, pardon my hp camera. Yupz, it was another busy day. Very very busy. I woke up at 9am to tidy up my room, clear up some of the rubbish that I accumulated for the past 365 days. Yeah, my room is getting neater. And I got out of my house at 11am to meet my friends. Have lunch at Rice Table - again. Pls pls!!! my friends, I dislike eating at Rice table. Simply because I am allergic to chilli! Will post up pics taken with them in my next blog entry.

<- cai shen ye! Pls give me lotsa lotsa $$$!!! Haha

Went to Chinatown at night.
I love festive seasons. I love to indulge myslf in the festive mood. The crowd in Chinatown was great. 'People mountain people sea'. So many people squeezing throught the narrow streets tt I could hardly breathe! Yah, that's the disadvantage for being short. Haha. Hey!!! dun luff okie.

<- People mountain people sea.

Making my way through the crowd is a torture. But I got more annoyed when I tio massive traffic jam at CTE! Sorrie, I couldnt take fotos of the jam as I was driving.

OMG!!! Dun tell me I'm gg to miss this! Cash bonuses for NSmen in pipeline
- The 700000 Singapore men here who have done National service can expect a cash bonus when the government conduct its net exercise to share the nation's bounty.

Pls!!!! Let me haf the cash. I ORD on 12th March 2006. I really need $. I'm a very very poor man.

Well, I hope that the elections will be held at the end of the yr - which is unlikely. The reason being:::

Because I'm damn afraid that the government will give out 'shares' like they used to in the previous election. Because my b'day falls at the end of the yr. Giving out shares ( if they do this yr ) now means I dun get to enjoy the present from the government.

Pls pls, Mr Woo is very poor currently. He needs some cash. Anyone wants to advertise on this site? Pls contact me via email... Haha... Mr Woo is desperate.

We came across a BMI indicator 'machine' today. Someone accidently picked it up from 'somewhere'. Haha Wadeva.. Crap. Yah, so we decide to measure height and weight and calculate our BMI using the machine. ~save the hassle of using the formula Weight divide by height square.
And it was my turn. Standing at an average Singaporean height of 1.70metres - seems okay. But when I stepped onto the weighing machine, it states 51kg ( 6 months ago, I was 57kg, acceptable weight ) . And that means my BMI is actually 17.6!

Conclusion: underweight.

Look, at primary 6, I was 1kg away from joining the Trim and Fit Club. Yah, I was extremely fat den. Now, I'm at the underweight zone. Gosh! Looks like I hafta eat more. Yeah!

Ganbatte Mr Woo, Eat more!

I'm so so so freaking tired right now. Although I spent the whole of my Sunday sleeping in my comfortable bed - see its so messy now- ( new yr coming soon ) argh
after spending my night at Ministry of Sound.
And its duty again tmr! Haiz, I cant get to slp at home again. Can only sleep at the super uncomfortable examination couch!

Never mind, its jus a matter of time before I ORD. Clearing leave after Chinese New Year. Den I'll haf lotsa time to go and search for jobs. But I want sth like saturday/sunday exhibition jobs too. To earn more $.

Talking about jobs, I'm aiming to get into UOB as part time staff. But it seems that they r not recruiting part time inexperience staff currently leh. Anyone got UOB lobangs? Other banks oso can.

Heard that Citibank is launching a new platinium Divident Card. Usually these banks need a lot of promoters for the launch... Haha, yah, I'm looking forward to being part of Citibank staff. If they r recruiting lah! lol.

ST Thursday 12Jan2006. Home7.
Bloggers and personal website owners may soon be pressed to license the background music that they have on their online journals or websites.
For websites where the song cannot be dwnloaded, owners have to pay $1000 a yr for playing 10 songs or fewer. $5000 for playing 11 to 49songs. $10000 for over 50 songs.
'This is a competitive rate' said Mr Tan of COMPASS.
While it has not yet sued any1, COMPASS will start 'massive educational efforts' soon.

And yes, its $$$ again. Now I know that $5000 for playing 10 songs online is really a 'competitive' rate.
What sort of competition? What makes 10 songs for $5000 so competitive.
Why can't COMPASS view this as 'promoting' one's album?
I shall zip up my mouth now. If not I maybe the one getting into trouble instead. Singapore dun practice free speech.

Haha, surprisingly, I found this article ( Singapore not an open society, argues George Soros ) on the same page as the article above.

I got 2 freaking rich friends in my camp, working right beside me everyday. Taking taxi to them is like us - normal teenagers - taking bus. They take taxi to camp and back home everyday. Look, one of them stays at Novena and the oth, Bt Timah. The ride home wd jolly-well cost them ard $12 + peak hr charge.
$24 a day spent on taxi which also works out to $720 per month! Wadeva.

Will u guys spend $720 a month on transport?

Well, I came across this article written by a taxi driver. He compares taxi fares in Singapore with other developed countries.
A taxi ride from Sembawang to AMK ( 15km ) cost ard $8.50. For a similiar distance, a cabby in HK collects $24.37, Taipei $14.18, Sydney $30.78, New York $32.77, Tokyo $60.17. London $100.92!!!
Imagine paying $100 for a ride from Sembawang to AMK. Haha.
So after reading his article, this came up in my mind...
Imagine one day, Sgp taxi operators decide to charge commuters @ the rate London taxi companies charge . My friends would haf spend $5000 per month on taxi fares!

Okay, the last time I took a taxi was last month. I spent ard $20 incl peak hr charge and admin charge to travel from my camp to NUS. Imagine I were in London. I would haf spent $250 to travel the same dist. That's 1/2 of my monthly allowance.

Well, fact is that we cant compare the living standard btwn Sgp and London. So the cabby who wrote that letter, maybe u shd do some more homework - to compare taxi fares in M'sia, Thailand and China as well. ( An Average Singaporean earns less den an average Hongkongner, New Yorker and Londoner. But definitely more than an average Malaysian, Thai or Chinese. Hence we cant compare our taxi fares with that of other countries )
